Egypt- From Mubarak to Mursi

Since the end of Hosni Mubarak’s dictatorial rule in Egypt last year due to the pro-democracy movement at the Tahrir Square, political stability is still a distant dream in this Islamic state. Egypt erupted with joy when Mubarak finally stepped down bowing to the mass movement. He was arrested and tried. In June 2012, the disgraced President was convicted of mass murders and sent to life imprisonment. Democratic elections were held and Mohammed Mursi became the fifth President of Egypt.
